Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for the management and execution of product development activities (ingredient development, design test work, obtain and manage resources (including R&D), evaluate results with team and determine direction, maintain appropriate records of work) from concept through commercialization. Responsible for the management of co-manufacturing product development activities. This is a hands-on position and will require supporting the team wherever needed. Conduct project task force meetings, issue minutes and update timetables. Also responsible to conduct test work to support process and packaging development initiatives. Contribute to the maintenance and development of department systems such as HACCP, PDS and nutritional databases, Process Improvements. Participate in team and departmental activities such as panels, meetings, committees, administrative obligations (phones, e-mail). Participate in meetings with NPFC PD as needed to coordinate and plan related administrative objectives on the Solon campus. Must be able to maintain technical skills and personal improvement through completion of appropriate training. May also need to maintain and improve culinary expertise.

Requires a B.S. in Food Science or a related field, masters degree preferred. Two to seven years experience in product development (preferred) or manufacturing. Must have experience working with frozen foods. The position will focus primarily on frozen product development but may also be required to support chilled product development.. The individual must have good creative, problem solving and organizational skills. Experience with a variety of ingredients and processing systems is desirable. Experience with NPFC administrative systems a plus. Individual must be able to work independently while able to support the overall objectives of a development team. The ability to effectively communicate is a must.
